| I'm posting this here, too, in addition to my regular blog (http://journey2number4.blogspot.com).
Last night someone from our church handed us $20 (thank you, Richard!!!!!!!!!!!), out of the blue,
towards our adoption. That was so nice! That is the first donation
towards Sarah's adoption and it's really exciting!
I have been
thinking about what to do for fundraising for awhile now. We have, of
course, applied for grants, but those are hard to get. We would love
one and are praying hard for that! In addition to that, so far I give
plasma 2x week, but we would like to do more. My sister Janet has given
me quite a few ideas and I'd be happy to hear your ideas, if you have
any.
We have decided to do a garage sale this year, even though
I can't imagine how we are going to get it done with all the busyness!
But we'll do it. We've got either the last week in July or the first
week is August as the date we'd have it on. I think the key is having
great signs and good stuff. So, this gives me 2 months to come up with
some good stuff and some great signs. :)
Do you have anything
you'd be willing to donate? I'm really going to take a good look at all
or our things and try to purge. I hold onto a lot of stuff because I
think we need it, but do we really? If you have anything, we'd be happy
to pick it up!! I'm going to stalk Freecycle and see if I can find
anything there. Pass the word on, will you?
Thank you! Keep us in your prayers as we have other ideas, too. Even if we just do this garage sale, that's a lot of work!! | | |

Well, folks, I've up and moved to Blogger. That's Google's blog site
and it's so very cool. I've got a LiveJournal, MySpace, and 2 Xangas,
and I won't be updating any of those for awhile until I figure out how
I want to handle that. We are leaving for Disney World in 2 days and if
I get a chance to update while I'm gone, I'll only be updating my
Blogger. So, here's the links and please come visit. They are very cool
and you'll get used to them!

| Yesterday and today Troy & I both got our fingerprints taken for the US Immigration application, went to the downtown GRPD and got local police clearance letters, and got our blood drawn for the required tests. It feels good to get all that done and soon we will have all the needed documents for our dossier, so we can submit that as soon as we get the approval from the immigration!
Now we just wait for the I-171-H (the "golden ticket"), so we can send our packet of stuff (the dossier) to Ethiopia (it gets routed to Washington DC first, then back to our agency, then to Ethiopia). When will we get the I-171-H? Who knows! I'll say June and we'll see if I'm right.

| Oh, my, oh, my! In the mail today we received our appointment notice from USCIS. This is what we needed in order to go the the USCIS office in Kentwood to get fingerprinted. We have an appointment on *next* Friday (April 27th) morning (per this notice), but maybe we could squeeze in earlier. Then, after we get fingerprinted, we wait for our "golden ticket" (the I171H or whatever it's called).
This is way faster than when I assumed we'd get this. I thought we'd get it in June. Now we really need to get going on our dossier. We need to get our blood drawn and go downtown for our local police clearances. Plus some misc other things, like getting some notorized letters from a few places.
This is really fun. It's happening!
